The Commander's Newsletter
January 15, 2021
Dear Parents and Clubbers,
One of the things this newsletter is about is End of Year Awards, something some of you are familiar and some of you are not. We have a wide variety of categories you can earn awards in for the end of year. You can earn awards in multiple categories. Here are some of the awards you can earn. Highest Church Attendance, Most Sections Passed, Most Improved, Highest Club Attendance, Discipleship Award, Most Enthusiastic, Clubber of the Year, and more. This is also a time when some of who have earned book awards will receive them, which is what is received for completing a handbook. So this is something for all of you to be thinking about and working on. There are awards for Cubbies, Sparks, and T&T in each of the categories mentioned. As it stands right now, some of you are not going to make our decision an easy one for us.
The next thing has to do with Grand Prix. We are going to be asking you to give us a number, be thinking about a back-up number in case the one you want is already taken. It can be a single or two digit number. We also want you to think about if you want the help of your parents in designing your own vehicle from a block of wood, or a truck, stock car, or even an indy car. They will come with wheels and pins for axles. It will be up to you and your parents to design and paint these vehicles. They will be judged on design and speed and in Sparks and T&T there will be a first, second, and third place trophies. In Cubbies there will be trophies for first and second place.
On one final note as we did not have a newsletter last week and is important to note, the Clubber of the Month for December is Ryker Emery. Congratulations to Ryker on earning this award.
God Bless,
Awana Commander
